the right ssl provideR?

^^^ some offers need ssl for the postback url. this might sound dumb but once i add ssl to the tracking domain does the existing urls out there without the https still work.?

Where you get your SSL cert from doesn't really matter. I use GoDaddy for mine, personally.

MY fear is that when the lead is redirected through my tracking will the browser show up a "this site certificate is not trusted" i guess that will hurt conversions.

I have this free positive ssl from comodo that comes with namecheap domain purchase, anyone has experience using that?

Just download every browser in the universe and open your https site to see if you get the site not trusted pop-up.

Pretty much all certs have 99.3+% compatibility. Check your cert against sites that test for compatibility (and proper installation) - there are a number of sites that provide this service for free. One example is SSL Certificate Tester - Check Certificates .
