Ok, so in December I posted here asking for donations since a buddy of mine was working to help feed and provide a playground for a group of 62-68 kids who were taken from abusive homes.

WF helped donate a few hundred of the $6-7k we raised. Thank you so much for those who donated. Also a special thanks goes out to Ricardo, the boss at http://www.ecohobbies.net - These guys sell playgrounds in Costa Rica and he gave us a super discount + donated some swings. If you live in CR and need a playground, these guys are high quality professionals, highly recommended.

Now back to the abused children, these kids went from living in a world where a stick was an instrument of torture, to one where it was their only toy (George Carlin reference) to one where now they have a place to play.

So, here is an update on what the money was spent on, from my buddy's own words:

Just wanted to show you guys where your hard earned money is going. Although due to legal reasons I couldnt show their smiling faces they were definitely in abundance.

Also if you count the two baby swings I replaced last month there were a total of 20 swings that either got replaced or are in the process of being replaced. They looked more like BBQ grills than seats, the old chains were also replaced with new coated chains.

Still more work to be done though, I have to get a welder out there to work on the basketball and soccer goals and we will be in good shape.

Yes, I'm a marketeer, I'm going to try to manipulate feelings. Normally it is for cash, but this time it was for the smug feel of self-righteous satisfaction.

Edit: Weird, works via proxy, getting 403 otherwise, must be a geo thing.
 
Great job on that swing! Before GreenLeaves the children used to not swing right round round round. Now the children can swing right round like a record baby right round round round.

You are completely right. Hostgator scam is almost as bad as Godaddy hosting. I'm not involved in the hosting of those sites or they would not be on ShitGator. Hostgator problems are very common, which is why most hostgator reviews that are honest say they suck.

Not negative. If you tell me I'm a manipulative bastard I'd likely take it as a compliment.

I'd rather have the ability to manipulate than not.
 
Good Job OP. It's nice to see people actually getting out there and doing things on their own rather than punching in their credit card numbers over to charities with millionaire CEOs.

Much respect to you and your friend.
