One of my main email act's which is about 10 years old and has nearly 75k messages in it is pretty much overwhelming. Luckily it's a google act and they do a pretty good job of hiding the bullshit.

Problem is I absolutely despise opening my email and i miss 90% of the emails that I want to see. Any of you guys know of any solutions that might be able to text you when emails come in from a list of VIP's?

I really haven't done any research into this and was hoping to shorten the learning curve.

Forward all the VIP's to another box, that forwards everything to YourPhone#@Youroperator.com?

If it is Gmail, why don't you setup a filter for said VIP email addresses, then have those messages starred or put in the priority inbox, then mark everything else as spam?

I dont want to have to open Gmail to find out if a VIP even sent me an email. I just want to know when they send it to me. I wonder how that would work w/ iOS push notifications. Could you set that up to where just those filtered messages or priority box would set off the push notifications?

I don't know about iPhone, because I use a real phone, but they talk about it here:

iphone - Can I get push notifications for emails in my Gmail Priority Inbox only? - Ask Different

You can do this with MailMinder on an iPhone. Just set up a Source of Gmail with the folder set to the Priority Inbox, then set up a Minder with a Subject of ... This will match any message that has a subject with 3 characters. I know the developer is planning to have a button to match anything in the next release.
Mail Minder has a free mode if you don't mind ads.

I use Twillio to ping me when I get an email from specific clients, it's how I manage most of my retainer clients. I built my own solution, but I would give https://zapier.com/zapbook/gmail/twilio/ - at some point I intend to move to this so I don't have to deal with the integration myself.
