Do you know of any "tapping into an 'outside of U.S. market'" success stories ?! With all the talk about huge underserved spanish, german and chinese speaking markets, there should be some...

The one I know about doesn't even involve a language barrier - Bebo seems to have gotten bigger than MySpace in UK, as mentioned here:

I think it helps to be in that outside market. Thinks like friends reunited started in the uk and spawned a lot of spin offs
