Take-aways from odd PR distribution?

I've had a couple of sites--and on occasion seen some in the wild--that have lower PR homepages than internal pages (sometimes PR3/4 index with PR5/6 internal). This is happening while the homepage has 95%+ of the IBLs. Is there anything to take away from this? Does it say anything about internal linking or content? Or is it moot and no body knows/who gives a shit? (Not fake PR either.)

It's okay. Happening to my sites all the way. Them internal pages prob have better link profile than dat homepage. And/or G thinks they are more valuable.
