I know this is a newbie question, hence, I posted it here in the newbie section. I have a new site that's going live in a few weeks and I would like to know if submission of my site to directories will help my site have a higher ranking? Anyone can share their valuable inputs will be highly appreciated.

Thank you.

By the looks fo your name you should already know the answers. Most links pointing to your site will be of benefit to rank higher. Directories are a godo starting point, then trying to get industry related links.

Thank you, Bobby. I was actually approving articles for an article submission site. Some of my clients asked if I do directory submissions or article submission as well but I haven't really know anything about these submission sites. I would like to offer those services but I need to study them first before going into something that it so tedious. Reading through several fora helps a lot but not quite enough. Contradictory opinions regarding directory submissions were being said and it is hard to know which is true. I just want to be enlightened and be knowledgeable as much as possible before even offering it. I hope that does not connote anything bad at all. I apologize if I offended anyone with my newbie question. Thank you.
