Hey guys, I have an ecommerce site i started recently and im trying to track sales etc with fb and google using prosper. When i put in my link in the aff campaign and then get the tracking code it doesnt work it takes me to an error page. My mate told me its because i cant pass subids to that link and so i need to get something like has offer.

Could you guys suggest what to do with it?

Im currently using oscommerce

Thanks

Not sure how it works in oscommerce but you probably need some marketing module that will let you send it subids. Basically you're going to have to be able to accept subids and generate reports based on those or there's nothing you can do. You're probably best off asking at the oscommerce forums.

Yup Google Analytics is all you need, very powerful if used correct, make sure the site is up for ecommerce, and track it to death, custom reporting, funnels, etc.. it can get all very complicated. Oscommerce has analytics plugins as well.

^ You should do what he said

to track the subid, easiest way is to install 3rd party affiliate software, (jrox is shit, and free - but works), you don't even have to log in, just use it for redirecting and passing subid

Yup. Lots of info out there about how to use some of the more advanced features of GA (funnels, custom goals, segmentation etc). This guy usually has some pretty good stuff - Web Analytics Blog | Occam's Razor by Avinash Kaushik . He's the head analytics evangelist at Google (at least he was).
