Sub domains?

I am an absolute newbie. I know that a subdomain is a prefix to your domain but how is it structured on your host? Why use many domains if you can have unlimited subdomains? Sorry if this is a really silly question.

It is more professional to have a seperate domain. It will be structured on your host as basically another domain.

If you are just doing arbitrage or a landing page then go for the domain. If you are starting a new long term site then you are probably better with a new domain.

it depends on what type of websites you are planning to build
if you are building content sites and would like return visitors then you should purchase a domain that matches the content of the site

subdomains are great for testing new sites and ideas. If the new site shows potential you should invest a few bucks and buy a domain.

you may have as many domains as you want, unless your host puts a limit on it.
