What is the best way to stop comment spam at the door?
I spend too much time deleting spam from the admin panels from my sites, is there anything I can do?

Try it out! It made a stream of comment spam down to nothing worthy of comment.
Does it use bayesian filtering or something? I wish I could try it out but the sites that get the most spam are Drupal and Joomla sites.

There is a nice mod if you use WP that captures spam comments and it worked awesome on one of my blogs. ill have to find the link to it but check the WP development site for it

haha. People are already wiping the floor with me - I can't keep up with them.

No, I'm just trying to help Jon establish his site. :)

Been thinking about that, but I personally hate typing those things, I don't think I would be posting many comments if I had to go through CAPTHA each time
As far as I know, it's the most effective easy option. The only problem I see with it is the fact that screen readers can't read them.

You actually have CAPTHCAs with audio hooked into it, so now only people who are both blind and deaf, can't use them.

Good point. I have never seen that done but it's definitely possible.

Clever...

Akismet for wordpress does the job very well - without inconviencing your users with a captcha.

Akismet really is the hands down leader at this point.
