I want to start an LLC. I know how to go about the process of legally setting up an LLC. My question is more financial.

I want to open a line of credit (get a small business credit card). Has anyone done this recently? Who would you recommend going with and why? I think this might be helpful for other people too.

Thanks.

legalzoom.com then go to a bank when llc comes through and you get an EIN.

Thats a cool website but I'd rather just file myself and save myself $129.

I'm wondering more about what credit card company you guys use and if you have been happy with them, benefits for small businesses, etc.

No need to go to bank - fill out this form to get an EIN.

Then apply for a business credit card, I would call the 800 number rather than apply online. You will almost certainly get a line of credit based upon your personal credit history rather than purely for the business, but you should improve both yours and the businesses credit rating by paying regularly.

Also - I would suggest getting a card with some sort of rewards. Arbitrage and PPC can generate some huge sums of rewards very quickly.

Amex bought me
-50 inch Plasma
-XBOX 360
-2 Vegas Trips with Bellagio Hotel
-7 night cruise with wife
-5 $200 Morton's gift certificates (xmas gifts for employees)
and I still have over 2 million reward points...

Depending on state, it costs liks $15 filing fee sent directly to state corporation commission, I have done this in 3 states - CA, VA, TX - be shocked if New York did not have something...

try Here

omgoshh thats so freakin kool!

If filing a DBA, could you make a seperate bank account for it?

I want to direct deposit my Adsense earning to a seperate account once I get a DBA registered in my state.

When we opened our business checking account at Bank of America, we automatically qualified for a $5,000 CC with them as well. If you have good credit, you can try that.

Thanks for the advice. Right now I have 0 credit. I've never owned a credit card. haha
that's going to make it difficult for you to get a decent line of credit
you'll probably get something, but it's going to be relatively little

since you're in Brooklyn, you're gonna need to go down to Court St to file the paperwork
there's a jewish guy across the street that sells all the paperwork, he can even notarize it for you

So I have a question for you guys.

I'm under 18 and don't have my own bank account (joint account with parents or w/e) because of my age.

Now, is it possible for me to start an LLC or Inc., and then open a bank account for that, and use that for adsense deposits? basically then i would be control of my funds in my own account (my businesses) and have no age restriction because the account was made in the business' name, not mine

?
