Okay, so I'm not trying to be the next Google or the next Singlesnet or anything but I have an idea for a/few dating sites that I think could blow up. I have a few questions that I hope some people could answer seriously instead of flame.

1. What is the estimate of cost you think it would cost to start a dating site (website development, advertisement to get the customer base, maintenance for the site)
2. If I were to start a dating site/offer, how would I get the audience from the start... obviously no one would be active on the site if it only had 100 users, I would have to advertise like a motherfucker to get thousands of users off the bat in order for the site to be successful correct?
3. This isn't a specific question but what other things am I forgetting about what I would need to start a dating site?

Markus (of PoF) if you are reading this could you give me some advice about how you started your site, any details would be greatly appreciated. If anyone wants to hear about my idea and are serious about it PM me, I talked to a buddy of mine and they estimated I needed about $1 million in order to start a dating site and I wanted a second opinion. I really do believe the idea I have could be very lucrative so if anyone's interested PM me. I look forward to hearing from you.

I have advice for you. Get in your hot tub time machine. Go back 10 years. And start this business when it was a good idea.

The only way it would work is if you really narrowed down the niche.

And if you need $1mil for it to take off, then you might as well scrap the idea.
For $1mil, you can build a lot of other businesses with much higher probability of success.

What I have observed that if you use Adsense on dating site then earning is very low.

buy a php dating script, fill it with fake data, build links, keep whatever signups you do happen to get to sign up connected to the site, i.e. fake activity etc. Then grow it in to an organic site and shred the fake shit.

alternatively, if you have 1 million dollars to spend, feel free to PM me.
