Someone please help me. I am pulling my hair out. I want to start an affiliate network like Commission Junction. I have money to spend but need advice form you experts! Is it software I need or is their a company that has the platform. I found hasoffers.com but so far very unimpressed. Direct track didn't even call me back. I run multiple sites, ust 3 AM networks but want to control my own future. Just point me in the right direction.

How much money do you have to spend? If it's 7 figures you can contact me.

Yes either you need to buy a backend tracking system (like Direct Track) or create one in house.

If you're pulling your hair out and have to come to a forum asking random people how to do it, you will fail.. No, You WILL fail.

There I just saved you a lot of time and a lot of money.

you guys are so rude, he's absolutely on the right track, as someone who write programs and such, it's not necessarily something i would want to get into, but asking around is the absolute right thing to do.

HaHa. Sorry to say that Zac is wrong. There is definately money to be made in running a network, but it's not anywhere near as glamarous as most people would like to believe.

The whole "death of rebills" never happened, most switched merchants and worked it out. As for shaddy merchants who don't pay out, it's nothing new and DOES happen. Most decent networks are cautious of this, and aren't say going to let a new advertiser go all balls out without getting a deposit from them upfront.

I've been in the online marketing game for a long time and I would be hesitant to do it, even with a lot of financial backing. Fraud, advertisers not paying, compliance etc etc etc. Even for an experienced vet, there is a lot of risk involved. Not to mention the fact that there are shitloads of networks out there. What's your competitive differentiation? And finally, talk to guys like Ruck and Smaxor and ask them how many hours they work a week. It takes a special breed to deal with all of the above. Bottom line, if you're asking how to start a network on a forum...you're fucked before you are even out of the gate.

Personally, if I were to do it, I would follow the ShareASale model. Lower risk merchants, essentially escrowing affiliate payments in micro transactions etc.

waiting for certain network owner to come here who hasnt paid certain affiliates and say networks are hard to do and that networks invented acai and float money to pay affiliates when they dont get paid..
