Squidoo takes a dump

Unfortunately Squidoo have changed their policies regarding lens subjects. You may have seen this last month. The policy came in to force on the 16th July and they have now begun locking lenses that break the new policy.

You can see the list of now unacceptable subjects here: SquidDon't!

Basically lenses on the following subjects are not longer allowed: pharmaceutical, drug, diet aids, weight loss, dieting, ebooks and affiliate programs for medical cures, dating, affiliate marketing, gambling, credit cards, mortgages, forex, finance, hate lenses, ringtones, adult, traffic exchange, PTC, advertising, plus more.

Squidoo was downgraded awhile back so really hasn't done anyone any good for awhile now.

Yes, they blocked both my weight loss - related lenses. Hoped the fact they were not in English would allow me to go unnoticed a bit longer but it was not the case.

I didn't mind it was downgraded, until yesterday when they started touching my lenses. Which are close to 200.

I think the reasons for this are pretty obvious, they're just trying to improve the quality of their service by reducing the amount of spam.

Funny how back in the beginning they openly encouraged affiliate marketers to take up Squidoo specifically as a promotional vehicle.

there idiots spam laws are just for trying to save our dying postal service. Ever notice that you can still legally spam the shit out of anyones mail box with all the junk mail you want but you cant do it online. Thats because the government doesnt make money from emails.

squidoo was created solely for marketing purposes and thus gained massive users. But now they are screwing up the policies i do not want them to turn like knols or hubs; whatever it is, kissing googles ass might be the right thing
