Special Event Websites any value?

I saw that Sochi was awarded the 2014 Winter Games on the news so I made a trip to Go Daddy and registered a pretty good domain name. For $7, I decided it's better to buy first, ask questions later.

So any resale value in a domain with decent keywords for a big event in the future?

Any domain with decent keywords are always given importance. It all depends on which business or event you match. The most important in this is that how you market yourself on web.

i think it will grow in value over the years exponentially, but don't expect anything at all until about 2010 We still got the 2008 olympics to deal with

Kind of what I thought about for two minutes. $50 to carry it for 7 years. I can't see it being any lower value than $50 in 2013/2014 so anything over that is money in the bank. If it's valued at $100 in 2013, well then I got myself a 12% annual return on investment. That's doesn't even count any content I put up there between then and now.

Well if it is something like sochi2014.com, you can sell it in September/November 2013 for a few $10K...
