With the exercise nazis
I've seen normal everyday terms used to optimize porn websites. I had a Google Alert today for something (not porn) and when I clicked on the website it was a porn site. They optimized for something completely different, and they get their traffic any way they can. This isn't the first time I've seen this, it seems pretty common.

What would be the drawback to optimizing for something like scat but NOT making it porn? It gets searched 250K times a month according to SEO Book. Who cares if they land on your page and get info on how to chase possums out of their yard? Does it matter what you optimize for if you're getting traffic from it and can monetize that traffic?

You're not going to be very successful trying to monetize un-targeted traffic.

I beg to differ. I'm of the opinion that any traffic is good traffic. Think outside the box and try to find something that you can offer this traffic that they might ALSO be interested in (in lieu of whatever you enticed them to your site with). For instance, for porno keywords you could offer a seduction ebook (assuming that many guys looking at porn are interested in girls but don't know how to get them - yeah, mabye it's a stretch). Yes, your bounce rate will be higher than normal, but who's to say you can't still make positive ROI on these types of campaigns? I've done it, and I'm sure others can as well.

I was thinking CPM.
CPM rates for adult are low, if you go with adultadworld not only that but you have to put up with all their dirty zango shit and redirects, spyware ads etc.
If your getting traffic for scat and your page is unrelated they will bounce straight off, so even if you had them 250k your going to earn hardly anything from CPM.

True, I didn't think of the bounce rate. It would take a huge amount of traffic to make anything since it would be unrelated.

This was my line of thinking. While something like scat would probably be a bad choice, I'm sure I could do other unrelated high traffic terms and still convert them for something else.

I bet scat traffic is shitty
If you had scat traffic you could convert it into scat sales a lot easier then say lesbian traffic into lesbian sales. Obviously it would be pretty shitty for anything else though, but there are scat sponsors.

Yeah, didn't he make $120 off of 150k uniques? Not so nice.

I think I remember someone saying if they didn't see the brown-eye they woulda thunk choco ice cream? lol

Ahhh.. scat....
