I was deciding between a fujitsu lifebook ultraportable and the vaio.
they're both pretty similar in specs and build quality, cept the sony cost much more.
so i went with the fujitsu.

heck, if you're a big earner, get the sony.
 
wouldnt say a big earner, but you get what you pay for

Youll know im a big earner when im posting pics of my new Hummer.... maybe next year ......
 
The VAIOs in my experience are very well build, with a much longer life span, you pay more of a premium because they make them look prettier than others.

I dont think the cooling on them is that amazing on them as I have two both new and after 6 months 1 became quite noisy, but theres having 2 of any laptop you will notice problems the other doesnt have

Spec wise Acer have some very good models out which would probably beat the one your looking at spec wise for the same price, but after my first VAIO I was converted

Had Dells and HP before, but the build is so go good on the VAIO, the techiest people I know are all VAIO converts and reccomended after my HP died to get one, have never looked back
 
Sony Vaio laptops fucking rock!

I have one and I wouldn't trade it for the world. It's never failed me.
 
Sony's Notebooks are manufactured by ASUSTek.. ASUSTeK Computer

If you want something with similar spec for cheaper and with just the same quality.. go ASUS.

ASUS also manufacture the Apple Notebooks as well
 
I think with all laptops everyone has good experience with all brands

I am a bit anti-dell, probably as I put my last one in a black bag and threw it out with the rubbish
 
My 2 cents: I've owned 2 dells and the hinges broke on BOTH. I'm a die hard IBM thinkpad or bust kind of guy as I've knocked mine off a wall that was about 8 feet high and it didn't even phase it in the least. Only problem is the biggest screen they make it 15 inch. Wish they had a 17. By the way those new Powerbooks that run Vista look pretty sweet :)

never buy a sony
the minute you turn it on.. you'll regret it
it's got so much of sony's spamware and crap that you'll spend hours uninstalling it
or you'll need to do a clean system install from the very beginning .. but either way, waste of time
