Some of my domains are "Add-on" domains to my main domain. Does this affect SEO?

Will Google see my site as less of an authority site if its an add-on?

I have a "baby" account with hostgator. Lets say the main domain I registered with it is "guncontrol.com"

And then I buy another domain "allaboutoranges.com"

So when I do the add-on it says its "allaboutoranges.guncontrol.com," but everyone can still go in and type "allaboutoranges.com" and see that.

It seems like hostgator does this with every "add-on" domain. Will this effect my site. Is it better to get separate hosting for each individual site?

Hope I explained this well, if you need more clarity on what I mean let me know.

Thanks for the help.

I normally host sites on one of my servers but I have cpanel hosting accounts as well. I think every cpanel host does the "add-on" domains like that.

People will go to example.com instead of example.addondomain.com, and that's how you'll link to it, so google will see it as a separate domain as well. There really shouldn't be an issue with anything as long as you refer to it by it's own domain.

As above it is no issue. Just keep in mind they will both be on the same IP address in case you were considering linking them together.
