Let me preface this by saying I’ve been one of the masses singing praises for Site5 - they have great reliability, the support is nice, lalala.

No more.

It so happens that my reseller account has been hacked, and so have the accounts of others on the same server. In the Site5 forums the moderators are telling us that it’s our (the customer's) faults, that the server has not been breached, that this is an isolated incident, and that it must be something within our scripts (insulting really). They have started deleting threads that show that many others are indeed having problems.

The kicker is that while my sites were attacked last night, I didn’t realize it until today as those sites are all passive sites - I don’t update them. I realized it when one of my clients called and said he couldn’t access his email. I went to the site and saw a communist star and some other garbage.

I have sites that have no PHP or scripting whatsoever, and now (until I moved them to my other servers that is) they profess some quack socialism campaign.

So, I have sent a request to cancel my account with Site5 and I will never do business with them again - in fact I will suggest to others that they stay away. Stay AWAY! :ak:

That sucks man, sorry to hear about it. I'll definitely be avoiding them in the future.

other people on the same server, at least 8 other people. Site5 deleted their posts in the forum though. My biggest problem is that they told people that it was isolated and the fault of each of our individual scripts - though it affected every single site on our reseller accounts, even sites that had no php or scripting.

I have 2 dedicated servers that I bought after I originally put these sites on reseller hosting, so I just will migrate the sites to those, but it still pisses me off that I have to mess with it.
