So Facebook is private, huh?

It does not show the "Private" status messages. Just checked my status msg which can be only seen by my friends and the friends of them, It's not there. Thank God :)

People keep freaking out over the various websites popping up that collect/search/reveal/etc. already publicly available data from Facebook.

Show me a site that has all of my "Friends only" activity and data and we'll have something worth talking about.

Yup, agreed. But it is still annoying the way Facebook handles privacy. Doesn't really seem to take it seriously.

What are they using to pull the data?

I recently tried scraping Facebook for some stuff and very quickly ran into captcha's.

You have privacy online? Have you ever actually read a privacy policy? Usually they are just to disclose how they are gonna fuck your privacy.

Why are people getting so upset about their privacy on facebook? Like anybody would care how much they love farmville or what do they talk about with friends! Most of the people accept random friend requests, why would these care?

I have an account for 5-6 years and only very few real life friends there. Not taking those that I've never met aside from on my fan pages where I see them as potential leads. Why would anyone be interested in my updates? What can be gained with it?
