Alright I'll jump right into this.

I'm about to get a hold of an awesome domain, when I say awesome I say top of the line type shit, nice and stable pr 5 (thousands of links to back it up), dmoz, yahoo dir, 10 year old, great niche.

This was a pretty popular blog, had a huge network of readers, and has been talked about, shared, quoted etc on many authoritative sites, the site went offline 1 year ago, and the domain still gets 1.5k hits a day, shit's crazy still.

The blog had over 1500 articles, and I got them ALL, including the category they were filled in, the date they were posted, tags all that wordpress shit.

Keep in mind, I'm not the author of those posts and this wasn't a BRAND that owned the site, it was an individual.

My questions is, if, when I get the domain, I put all those posts back and start posting regularly - will it work, can I turn the site back into it's authoritative state?

When you get the domain add content and internlink like a madman and don't be afraid to throw the kitchen sink at it (links)

yeah but bear in mind just because you got the domain doesn't mean you own those articles. so have a contingency when you are sued for copyright infringement

When you say the domain went offline for a year, did it drop? Check if someone copied the old content and posted it, otherwise bring that old content back to life. And add to it.

Not bad.. like the method, but having the authoritative blog that it once was is more interesting I'd say.

It makes sense since I'm guessing it can handle the weight..

I live in a third world country, who the fuck is going to come here and sue me over a bunch of old articles? :1bluewinky:

It never dropped. Checked some of the posts, nothing, all is good, just a bunch of trackbacks.

Was planning to hire a a content writer for it, keep adding fresh content and hopefully get it back there.
