My business partner and I just switched over to Slicehost from CIHost and now we're paying 1/3 what we used to and our web sites seem to have faster loading times. Not to mention we obviously have a significantly higher profit margin.

Has anyone else used Slicehost before or does anyone currently use them? Anything I should know?

In my thread below yours somebody recommended it, so I guess its a good deal. I'm probably going to sign up for them as well.

Parts of their service are incredibly slow and they will kill you with overages. Also, you're on what is referred to as a 'slice' as opposed to the dedicated or whatever you had before. Most likely meaning you're paying 1/3 less because you now *have* 1/3 less.

i use them and am also very satisfied.
great middle ground between shared and dedicated.

Well until I see these overage fees in our business checking I will consider myself very satisfied, but thanks for the warning I will keep my eye on our bandwidth usage. I have yet to see anything incredibly slow about their services thus far. Unfortunately I cannot tell you exactly what kind of comparison I have in bandwidth and disk space because my business partner handles the web server admin side of things. I can tell you though, that from my standpoint we had everything to gain and nothing to lose as of now and it's only been a couple months so far.
