what do you think this single word type in is worth. I bought this domain and a few other .co.uk's about 5 -6 years ago and thought after watching a buddy of mine sell gay.co.uk for $$big$$ it would be a good investment but I am starting to wonder if it was just another bad investment in a string of many the past few years

true it would def have more value if a site was created around it. I Don't have the time to do so right now so it is just domain parked and I grab my checks from sedo each month

Well it depends on how much type in traffic you're getting and how much rev that type in traffic is getting as well.

That being said, it might be worth finding somebody who wants to build the site out a little (even if you make it a dating site comparison or something) and then doing a rev split.

go to acorndomains.co.uk and ask. some of the biggest .co.uk players in the game.

This is a little gem, dating is piping hot and internet dating will be even hotter in the future. Contact a private broker at Moniker or Sedo. You could also do the hard work yourself and approach the owners of a number of established dating sites, they are the ones looking for opportunities to expand their business.

Why not try redirecting it to a dating offer for now instead of parking it? If the traffic is good, you should make more that way.

Dating is hugely competitive, and even with a good domain name you're going to have an uphill battle to climb, especially in SEO. If you're going to develop it into a brand, then be prepared to spend lots of money doing that.

It's not close to being a millionaire name unless developed and popular, but then again, that can be said about almost any domain name.

Park/redirect and sell, or hold onto it if you don't need the money. Value will go up and you'll get more if an end user approaches you for the name rather than you putting it out there for sale -- you'll mainly just get other domain investors who won't pay the top dollar an end user would.

The only traffic the domain gets is from pure type in traffic which is about 1000 uniques per month which isn't a whole lot. "Synozeer" made a good observation that it takes money to build a brand and that can happen with any domain. I purchased it because it is an easily identifiable name that can be leveraged in offline/online buys without having to worry if people could spell it or remember the name.

Hope whatever your dedicating your time to is worth it because your missing out if not ..

I believe that I bought it for approx $35,000 around 7 years ago. I am not all that interested in selling it but rather looking for a good JV partner

personally i think you missed your shot to make it a VERY profitable site with myspace and then facebook and all the other dating sites out there that weren't there 7 years ago, "you're already a millionaire" which someone said i highly doubt that. you would have to pump in a lot more money for it to have a chance to grow, perhaps make an application that works with facebook and uses their userdatabase, i would say standalone the domain is worth about 50 000$ from my experience in buying and selling domains in the past.
