Simple Header Redesign

I have a header graphic done by a "designer" that I need making into a real header graphic. It's basically some clip art stuck together on a background and needs completely redoing, but you can use it to give you an idea of placement/layout etc.

A really simple job, shouldn't take any decent decent designer too long. PM for the header graphic and also send me your price :)
 


I'll do it for free, seriously pm me and I'll do it straight away, I can't believe someone would charge for just redoing a header.

I do charge for from scratch headers though, check the sig.

Okay, fair enough I get your point completely, but to honest I was trying to be nice. This guy has obviously got screwed by a designer before and he doesn't even want a new header, he wants it changed a bit.

No one bothered this guy for doing a free design.

As for you Jake, I really don't think you want to lose even more rep by insulting a generous person. Hell, your not even a designer yourself, next time someone tries to help you I'm gonna tell them to fuck themselves.

I see Bannerosity's and Jake's points, I really do, but it's not like I devalue designers' work. Everyone knows that bannerosity is a badass designer (see xkcd for joke) and people will always be prepared to pay for good design.
 
Thanks for all the replies, didn't expect that. Yea I kinda got screwed before but no big deal, I'll be PMing who I want to work with and if the quality isn't fantastic I'll just work my way down the list.

Exactly what reason? You're just bitter because no one is prepared to pay top dollar for your designs. It's demand and supply: there are a lot of designers and only a few large companies, therefore the price of design goes down. I'm just reacting to the market. Your obviously too shit to get paid much for your design work. Don't get me wrong I respect all designers working in the industry, but a lot of people (especially web designers) are pretty shit and try to charge way over what they should.

True, but I'm just doing stuff cheaply so I show what I can do. I charge a lot more to clients outside wickedfire (around $200 more).

Bad phrasing there, I didn't mean that to be directed at you; I haven't even seen your work. Just saying that the market is saturated with bad designers; pay is still generally commensurate to your skill level online. That and your ability to market yourself.

But yeah, designing web locally is very lucrative when you can get the work. Law firms are cash pinatas.
 
Don't think I ever updated this thread did I. I ended up working with larrybn, an excellent job and I'll be using his services again in the near future.

I quite cleary said in the post above yours that I have already had the design done by larrybn. Hell this thread is from ages ago.

Way to give yourself a good reputation on this forum. If you can't read properly how do you expect people to work with you?
