Should a blog have a sitemap?

I found a plugin called Google sitemap 2.7.1 by Arne Brachhold. This got me to wondering. Does a blog really need a sitemap? Everything seems so well organized that it really seems pointless. Am I missing something?

I'm not sure exactly why SE's have problems with blogs but I do know that once I installed Google Sitemap on one of my blogs, the content Google spidered effectively doubled.

Its at least worth a shot, the plugin is very easy to install and activate.

SEs have problems with blogs? I thought SEs loved blogs. This is news to me. Wasn't the whole point of that blog and ping debacle that SEs ate up blogs?

I don't think so. They have no problem with blogs, and a sitemap would be redundant with such an obvious content structure.

That plugin works well; I have used it and Google spidered the site stratigh after. As a result I have it on all my wordpress blogs as a default at installation.

Just like any other website, a blog only really needs a sitemap if it's navigational structure is complex, or incapable of handling the amount of content without paginating like crazy.
