Not the usual gay shit (affirmations, setting goals). I'm talking about practical stuff.

Here's what I do:

1. Masturbate/Sex the first thing in the morning. I either fuck my girlfriend furiously, or masturbate furiously. Or do both. Nothing beats starting out the day with sex.

2. Leechblock firefox plugin -- If you find yourself surfing some website too much, add the URL to leechblock. I add a custom message to the blocked website, like "Stop being a fucking tool and do some work".

3. Have a "work log" file. Basically, just write a short sentence on what you worked on and time stamp it.

eg: 11:48 PM 4/2/2009 -- set up new landing page for big dicks pill at xxxx.com
11:59 PM 4/2/2009 -- got 10,000 keywords

I just use textpad. Heh. Sounds kinda gay but I feel a sense of accomplishment at the end of the day. (And you get to see the shit you done 3-6 months ago)

4. Have a routine and stick to it. You hear the usual shit "persistence is the key". It is. For example, I go to the gym EVERYDAY for 1 hour. I just drag my ass there and pump some weights. (And spy on that hot latino chick on the tread mill) There is no 'motivational' secrets. It's just going out there and grinding.

(FFFFFFF, dat ass. Video gamers will know what character she is)

I like the notepad idea, do something like that in onenote, but find it too cumbersome for what i really need. Been debating on moving that into a spreadsheet, but don't think I'm disiplined enough to do really track my time that much. I use ResuceTime and review it about every month.

I'm also going to try the leechblock plugin. Good Tips.

My top productivity increase came when i bought sugarsync to sync my laptop and my desktop. This helps me continue working on projects between class and saves me a 20 min commute each way. Works wonders for my 1.5 hour breaks between classes.

I also moved from outlook to gmail, no more syncing two computer's email via svn. :)

I'm finally completely mobile.

As far as real productivity shit, i use a google notebook to track tasks and have it loaded in a side bar. Helps me keep all my shit straight. (mobile again)

I also use a google spreadsheet to track all my domains with notes next to them. This includes my parasite hosts along with what is going on. Within this spreadsheet I also have a cash inflow/outflow area which uses a vlookup to link the domains with the amount of money spent on each one. I then sync the invoices or printed receipts in a dropbox under the site name. (mobile again)

As far as content buys, I track those also in spreadsheets. (mobile again)

Yes... i like spreadsheets and hate being tied to one computer.

Read lots of productivity books, and i try to put them to practical use like this:

-i print specific goals and put them up on the wall in front of me. Specific goals such as "on april 30th be 205lbs" motivate me much better than general goals like "lose weight"

-I break up projects into smaller parts. I will never find time for a 10 hour project and will just keep on delaying it, but if i break it up into 10 1-hour tasks, and i can easily find time during day to fit in couple of 1 hour tasks. This way i can finish something in couple of days that i would otherwise delay for weeks.

-i plan everyday in advance

-always think on paper, since we can only hold around 7 different things in short term memory

-used to keep notes of whatever i would do during day with excel timestamp template. That helped identify timewasters and get a more realistic picture of how long things take.

-Use travel and gym time productively, dont even listen to music anymore, just audiobooks and podcasts

-Whenever i plan my work day, i try to keep in mind these principles: separate urgent from important and 80/20 rule

- Hire a maid. $70 a week. Does my laundry, dishes, cleans everything. Frees up time for me to make $.

- I put all my appointments on my Google calendar which is automatically synced to my iPhone. All of my appointments are set 30 minutes before I'm suppose to be there so I'm not late in case I completely forget.

^ True - but that costs more then $70 a week.

Also creating artificial scarcity will get you motivation pretty quick. Convince yourself AM is not going to work next year and you only got 12 months to get everything you can out of it.

.

Mine does all that for 50.00. Put an ad out on CL for exactly what you want done and exactly how much you'll pay. You'll be surprised at how many responses you get.

Desktop stopwatch widget. I set it for 30 minutes and work on ONE thing until it goes off. If I finish before the timer goes off, I get to waste the extra minutes surfing stupidity like WickedFire.

I found myself becoming a slave to any type of software related solution or device. It was to the point that it was counterproductive. I then stopped wearing a wristwatch and got rid of most of my clocks and that's been working out pretty good. 4:20 anytime FTW!
