Ok, so I got a domain made a blog and am starting to get some traffic to it now. I hit about 150 visitors today and while looking through the domains I had gotten traffic from I noticed whois.sc on the list. I knew immediately what it was and went there to check my domain expecting to find the whoisgaurd info since I got my domain through namecheap which comes with the service. Well, I type in my domain and up comes all my personal information. Turns out I forgot to activate my whoisgaurd. So I went and activated it, but is it too late? Or will it take effect the next time my site gets checked out by whois.sc. I feel like an idiot and am a bit worried about having all my info out there for the taking. Thanks for any advice.

Hopefully this response isn't too late, but it is the first answer....

After you activate WhoisGuard in your NameCheap panel, it will update right away. Now, next time someone uses a whois database to search for your domain they will be served up the WhoisGuard info and not your personal info.

However, anyone who looked you up before you activated WhoisGuard was obviously able to record your personal information.

It takes a bit to update, it's not too late, but your personal information will still be available in the whois history.
