I get asked about SEO Hosting, and how it works or basic strategy a lot because we offer it through my hosting business. I have probably explained this 100 times over, if not more. The basic strategy and logic behind it.

Anyway, I found this article and figured I would share it. I think he gives an excellent overview as to the benefits of using and SEO host if you are doing a lot of linking, and SEO work.

C Class Hosting is a great was to boost your rankings in the search engines and put more cash in your pocketbook as a result. How does C Class hosting differ from normal hosting and how could it make a difference in your business? Read on to find out.

How Most Hosting Companies Work
Most hosting companies work with just one C Class block. For example, a typical IP address might be something like 174.132.190.98. Most hosting companies will just vary the last number - the 98.

The C Class block is the third number in the IP address - In this case, the number 190. These are purchased in blocks by the hosting company. The hosting company then cuts up the C Class blocks and sells them in smaller portions. Usually, only the last number in the IP address changes.

With most hosting companies, your IP address stays the same no matter how many domains you use - Or only the last number changes. Google and other search engines use this information to discount the credibility of your links.

How C Class Hosting Can Boost Your Search Engine Rankings
If you have more than one website with related topics, it's natural to want to interlink your websites to share link juice and traffic.

Using C Class hosting allows you to do just that. Unlike a normal web host, you get a completely different IP address. That means search engines can't track both websites back to you - So your links hold the same "vote" as a link from a website that doesn't belong to you.

If you have just one website, the C Class hosting may not make a difference for you. If you own multiple websites however, then using C Class hosting could help you get all the juice you can get out of your existing websites.

Now you know, and knowing is half the battle.

Additional Reading....

Few marketers realize how much of a difference a good SEO hosting company can make on your rankings. Here are five of the most commonly asked questions when it comes to SEO Hosting. Read these carefully, as they may make the difference between a front page ranking and not showing up at all.

Q: Does Your Web Hosting Company Matter?
The answer is a resounding yes.
One notorious example is how GoDaddy for a period of time installed a robots.txt file that told Google bots not to scan the hosted page.
That's an extreme example - But many web hosts follow the same mentality: Less bandwidth equals less cost on their web host's part. Therefore they're not inclined to help their customers out with their SEO.
On the other hand, picture a web host that's optimized for load time, inter-site linking, knowledgeable SEO support, VPS, built-in tracking and more.
A good web host makes a big difference.

Q: Does Load Time Affect SEO?
Load time is one of the factors search engines take into consideration when they're deciding your rankings.
Google's #1 concern is creating a quality search experience for their users. If the page they direct people to takes forever to load, that doesn't reflect well on the search engine. Faster loading pages rank higher, slower loading pages rank lower.
A good SEO web host is designed with speed in mind to accommodate this.

Q: Does Down Time Affect SEO?
Just like load time, if Google sends traffic to a website that's often down, that reflects poorly on Google. Sites that are frequently down tend to rank lower than sites that are always up.
A good SEO web host has a strong uptime guarantee - Their servers rarely if ever crash, meaning your site is always up and always ranking.

Q: How Can This be Guaranteed?
The only way uptime can be guaranteed is if there's someone sitting in front of a computer monitoring uptime 24/7.
And that's exactly what a good SEO host does.

Q: What Are the Other Benefits of Using an SEO Web Host?
First and foremost, you get access to multiple C Class Ip addresses for website optimization.

Furthermore, the people at the hosting company really understand you and your needs. There are people standing by ready to help you with your SEO needs. Most of the software is included and provided. Things like stat counters and plugins are included in the package.

They'll take care of issues that you may not even consider - For example, not using your servers with other servers that serve other purposes (like mass mailings,) so that you website doesn't accidentally get "black listed."

Multiple C Class hosting has become an essential tool for marketers striving to have their websites rank highly in the search engines. The ability to interlink websites while having search engines actually count rather than discount the links is invaluable. What are the benefits of Multiple C Class hosting? Read on to find out.

Give Your "Link Juice" Credibility

Google sees every link from one website to another as a vote of credibility. A lot of websites link to Amazon.com, therefore it's credible and ranks highly.

This credibility is called "Link Juice." Link Juice is passed with every link, with one exception: If you're linking to your own website.

Using Multiple C Class hosting, your links will no longer appear to be coming from the same person. In other words, you can link to your own websites and still pass link juice and rank higher in the search engines.

Ensure Your Website Doesn't Get "Sandboxed"

The Google "Sandbox" is a nickname that internet marketers gave websites that mysteriously disappear from Google. The website could magically reappear in rankings 3 to 6 months later, in the exact same position it was when it was sandboxed.

In other words, if Google see's you interlinking your websites, they might just take down your website for a period of time. Can you imagine what that would do to your business - Not being listed for 6 months?

Using Multiple C Class hosting will ensure this doesn't happen.

Ease of Use

Some might argue that you could just get multiple C class IP addresses by using multiple hosting accounts. While this is true, this means you'll have to keep track of multiple DNS forwarding addresses for your domains, multiple C-Panel login URLs, usernames and passwords among other things.

In other words, it'll get confusing quickly - And will probably slow you down and cost you money.

That's why Multiple C Class hosting was created: So you could have access to a range of IP addresses without the confusion of using multiple hosting accounts.
Feel free to hit me up with additional questions about SEO Hosting and configurations. Whether you are looking at starter, or more complicated link strategies with 10/25/50/100 C-blocks. I am not going to post it all up publicly for good reason. ;)

Another freebie for you.

When you're searching for SEO tips the internet can throw up an awful lot of SEO hosting possibilities which may seem, to the layman at least, like miraculous techniques. It is often only experts, however, that know the difference between the techniques that work and those which don't. Herewith a list of the most recommended SEO techniques.

1. Begin with a visible base -
Search engines find it easier to locate copy that's clearly visible in an HTML page. Content that has been embedded into technologies isn't always found by search engines or, if it is, it's not understood by them. All in all, complicating matters in this way can be a waste of time. So it's best to avoid embedding your content in JavaScript or Flash formats. Good SEO hosting should focus on the aim of building a main URL page with your pertinent information.

2. Steer clear of repetition -
Don't use repeat title tags for each page on a site. Even if your site has valuable content, the ineffectuality of using identical tags or titles will override this. Known as boilerplate content, repeated copy won't factor as relevant to search engines' algorithms. Pages that are set this way will rank as low priority. The correct form of SEO hosting should be trying to get your site placed as high priority.

3. Don't stuff content with keywords -
Contrary to myth, good SEO content is not created by littering texts with an abundance of keywords. Copy like this never reads well and is an outmoded means of SEO hosting. Always ensure that copy has something of value to offer the human reader by including keywords in a natural sounding way.

4. Content should feature on every page -
Include excerpts of relevant content on web pages. Doing so really helps when it comes to long tailed keyword ranks. Avoid creating a large number of pages only to fill them with various takes on the same services or products via a database. This is frequently perceived as an SEO trick by search engines so using this method may result in your site not being indexed.

Not trying to dog you, but....

I think MOST hosting companies use 'SEO Hosting' as a buzz word to charge you more.

So make sure they actually DO (as I am sure Barefootsies does) what is listed above and not just sell you a bunch frilly words.

Most of the above are just some background info on SEO Hosting in general.

What I offer is really the WEB HOSTING PIECE. Which is the hosting, with the various different C-Block IP's, and different name servers (additionally separated by adult, or mainstream), for you to put your different domains or websites on to trick out the algo with your A-B-C link strategy.

My hosting does not get into all that other b.s.. However, these articles are really to provide a single thread for me to point to that gives some background on the term "SEO Hosting" and what it can entail. A lot of people have misconceptions about what SEO Hosting is in the first place.

Myself, I do the actual different C IP blocks, and name servers. The rest I leave to these SEO "experts".

SEO Tips Continued.

You've double checked everything. Your title tags are good, you've got your backlinks and you've carefully selected the keywords you're targeting. Yet why aren't you ranking?

Most people don't realize how critical a role their web host can play in SEO rankings. By choosing a web host that isn't optimized for SEO, many people forfeit their rankings without even realizing it.

Here are three of the most common SEO Web Hosting traps that people fall for.

#1 - Using Cheap Shared Hosting
The downside of shared hosting is that you get what you pay for. The servers are shared with others who may be using black hat or 'spamming' type of tactics. Those servers may be blacklisted and hosting your site on the same servers may reflect poorly on your rankings.

There can be a lot of other downsides to using shared hosting - Read on to learn a few more.

#2 - Uptime & Load Speed
Load speed and uptime both factor into your website's rankings. Google's number one concern is to ensure that their browsers have a positive experience. Most shared hosting accounts go down every once in a while, which both affects your business and reflects poorly on your rankings.

#3 - Using the Same IP for Multiple Websites
Instead of getting two or three times the traffic by building multiple websites, many website owners make the mistake of putting them all on the same IP address - Effectively eliminating the benefits of having more than one website, by broadcasting to Google that the site was built by the same person.

SEO is a science, and there are many pieces to it. More over, it is ALWAYS CHANGING. Most are not going to give you all of them on a public forum, or for free. I recommend you read and read and read some more. These articles I am posting for those who keep asking, "What is SEO hosting, and what's in it for me?"

Hopefully this broad overview will help you get a better idea of the role it can play in your network of sites, and your linking strategies.
