Has anyone used it extensively? What is the data quality and completeness like? I'm especially interested data about smaller type of local websites for mom and pop shops.

Thanks!

It's a decent tool. Obviously, a good portion of the specifics aren't spot-on (CPCs, etc).
I'd imagine the smaller the data, the more inaccurate it could be.
Try it out for a month and see how you like it.

I use both semrush and ahrefs which are supposed to be the top of the line tools but for some reason these two never give me the same data. Not sure which one I should trust more...

SEMRUSH provides a good starting point.

However we have some ECOM projects that SEMRUSH shows 7-20 keywords for but in reality we're getting 1000s of keywords a month. SEMRUSH only knows the more popular and common phrases and keywords. It's not an entire picture, and the more obscure the products the worse they are. 400-600 keywords in SEMRUSH 2-5k in analytics... etc.

If you want to monitor keywords granular then SERPWOO is a good choice for that. Extract your analytics, fish for some more on SEMRUSH, make your own system, and then monitor, learn and grow ;)

Local mom and pop -- good to get keyword ideas/etc. and track their improvements but if their business is not common or they sell weirder parts then it won't work as well.

Its a good tool, but all the data is scraped from different ISP's. It does provide an overall view of what your competitor is doing. I use it with other tools to check what is happening.

Why don't you educate us Tim?

Unless you are pulling decent traffic the data is shit. This guy wants it for a mom and pop business. SEMRush is expensive and inaccurate especially for local businesses. It isn't bad for keyword research, but either is the keyword research tool in Google or SERPWoo which will do most of what SEMRush will but much better, especially when it comes to tracking your rankings and competitor rankings. Not to mention it has a great Keyword research tool.

SEMRush is for large websites with more data, not mom and pop shops.

Serpwoo is great and all that but it does not compare to SEMRush for finding keywords and ads that your competitors are using, especially for smaller or less obvious keywords. SEMRush is great at finding ideas/keywords you haven't thought about. Traffic levels aren't perfectly accurate but for keyword research it's my pick.
