Interestingly, that is less than half of what was being asking for in private sale a few months back. It looks like all the "interested" parties backed out and caused a big discount.
The guy who either owned travel.info or who was representing the sale (I can't recall, it's been a while) owns and has owned a few premium .info domains and has done pretty well selling them. According to his emails, a lot have gone for the mid 5-figure range with some asking prices being in the mid 6-figure range.
