LukeP please pm me, you do not have to be alone tonight. Do NOT think of doing anything stupid, I'm here for you buddy.

Jeebus people... Calm down. Can't you guys see a typical Faux news hit piece when you read one?

The number of states Paul "has" is totally up in the air still. RT last reported that Paul had 11 states already:

[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QEhFbDflWmw]Ron Paul Has Won 11 States! - YouTube[/ame]

Of course they are a bit biased, so I feel that number is high. But it's not as low as 4 states, either. These guys show we have 7 states:

The Real 2012 Delegate Count for the Republican Primaries & Caucuses

It is clear that Ron won 7 states with indisputable delegate majorities. No one is contesting those 7, so according to the GOP national rules, Ron has won 7 states and can therefore be nominated.

3 of those 7 STATES (not the GOP) however have rules in place that say Romney gets "credit" for those states somehow because he won the otherwise meaningless straw polls there... The useless vote where the common citizenry votes at a ballot box... Despite Paul winning majority delegates in those states, Romney won the state at the ballot boxes so these 3 states are reporting themselves as "Romney States."

That means that if you ask the STATES, only 4 at this time (two are still being contested due to GOP violence against Paul majority winners) are official Paul "Wins." And there are no more state contests left after yesterday.

Fox news, being the stinky douches they so often are, took that last part of the bigger story and ran with "Paul's contest is over." Irritatingly as usual, they failed to report the obvious fact that the National rules are not the same as the state rules...

The National GOP rules do not give a shit how many states stepped forward with Paul's name as their winner; they have their own interpretation of who won... Which has everything to do with the number of delegates that show up at the RNC.

So typical of Faux news. Would make me laugh if you morons didn't believe them. :(

Just smash your TVs today, ok? You'll be smarter by the morning.

PS: This is what FAUX News said about this situation back in May:

luke, you do NOT have to be alone right now. i am 100% there for you seriously if you need some help.

Pewep, I read your condescending joke the first time in this thread (and the same joke in the last thread about RP's chances) and neither of those times was it funny. Please spare us all, and if I ever do need such support, my wife and family will likely be employed before you... ;)

They are getting the rules mixed up, and rather than do their own research, they are just making new reports based off someone else's erroneous one. What they are talking about, but don't realize, is whether or not RP will be able to place his name on the ballot at the RNC so that mitt won't be running uncontested in what would otherwise be a ceremonious vote.

The way it is supposed to work- a state's delegation will get together and collect a list of signatures amongst themselves to send to committee, requesting that a candidate's name be placed into consideration for nomination. If the number of delegates' signatures is more than (possibly) the number of signatures for another candidate (within that state's delegation), it counts as one of the 5 necessary for a candidate to be placed on the ballot.

When a state is 'won' by a candidate at the conventions, this is usually not a big deal. States like Iowa, Maine, Minnesota - RP delegate numbers are high enough to ensure another candidate won't try to block them from using that state.

So there are 3 states uncontested, and about 7 that will be contested. And note this doesn't have anything to do with who they are bound to vote for, just whether or not they are willing to sign a certificate to place a candidate on the ballot.

Louisiana could count as a 4th state if they seat the duly-elected delegates. If they refuse to seat them, the RNC would essentially have to say that they condone actions such as this:
[ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tgTpLOUxC6Q"]Henry Herford is assaulted by Shreveport Police at LAGOP State Convention - YouTube[/ame]

The delegation from Nevada is stacked with RP supporters, though most of them are bound to romney. This could count as the 5th state (assuming LA was #4, and see note below *) .

Oregon is a strong possibility to count as state #5 or 6, if all the delegates can make the trip (and, see below *).

Colorado has a number of 'unpledged' delegates who are all (except possibly 1) RP supporters. Some of the Santorum delegates would vote in line with RP supporters for everything except the actual nomination vote. Depending on how it's done, and it would be very close, but CO could count as the 5th-7th state (and see note below * ).

Virginia is a slight possibility to be the 5th, 6th or 7th or 8th state.

Oklahoma, if their duly-elected delegation gets seated would be the 5th-9th state. If the RNC refuses to seat them, they would have to stand behind the actions here:
[ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ASc6HoX-T1A"]People kicked out, lights turned off before Oklahoma GOP convention finishes - YouTube[/ame]

Alaska would be a free-for-all if multiple candidates try to collect signatures, but slightly possible for state #5-10.

* At the moment, it doesn't matter who the delegates are bound to - a delegate could be bound for one candidate, but sign for another. This may change soon, and probably will.

jews will be jews and will define who will be our president, period. No way they'd allow a white man with extreme border policies be our president. No way in hell. But then again, our oppression always did result in their genocide. So let it get worse... fuck do I care - I win either way.
