ROFLAO - Domain Prices

So I decided I wanted a certain domain, but it was taken by the domain squatters "BuyDomains"

So I put in a price request for this two word domain (keywords get 0 searches in overture) with no backlinks that had never been owned by anyone other than this domain squatting company.


$2288

Give me a fuckin break!
 


Well if they got one person desperate enough daily, you'll understand why they do what they do.

My uncle was able to get a domain from them for free after a trademark dispute. As soon as they see court papers, they transfer.
 
Your "domain squatting" company bought that portfolio in a multi-million deal :1orglaugh:

Unless its a really fucking horrible niche, $2288 is dirt fucking cheap for a two word dot com.

It was a generic two worder that doesn't have an obvious application to any niche at all.

I can't really think of any other description for somebody who registers domains with no intent to use them other than to onsell as anything but a domain squatter. Maybe they're a very big domain squatter, but they are a domain squatter nonetheless.

$2288 is fucking ridiculous considering I can go register any number of similar word combinations at namecheap for $8 (which is probably what I will do).

really? I have quite a few two word domains & didn't think they were worth much- go me.
