Why do people have a problem with refferal links?

I SHOWED YOU THE INFORMATION. GIVE ME SOME CREDIT FOR IT. NOW STOP BITCHING ABOUT HOW I'M GOING TO GET 2% AND MAKE SOME FUCKING MONEY.

If you are providing the information they need, then what is the issue? I never understood people like that.

Some folks just don't want to see a brother succeed.
 
I agree with you, but bigger forums like DP don't allow them because it only invites spammers to the forums.

On the posters side, it does seem reasonable though..

Most people are now using redirection links to do this though...
 
I think that WickedFire is going to crack down on the spammers pretty quick. Right now it seems like the majority of people here are cool fuckers so I don't have a problem with referral links. At the stage this forum is at right now, it's pretty obvious when an asshole pops up spamming links.
 
True. It's hard to monitor this stuff, but I think referral links are necessary and I wish more forums would take action to monitor it better, rather than remove it. Although I can't say I complain about the extra traffic to w57 :)
 
I don't see an issue with it. You're providing someone with a link to something that can potentially help them out, so why not get credit for it? As for the spammers, I think we have a pretty good hold on those fuckers. The mods do an excellent job at catching them, generally right after their first post too. Plus it's fun to ban spammers.
