Was on godaddy auctions. Almost won lol..
Don't know what I would have done with it, but I thought why the heck not.. Thought I will SGW it and 301 to my redbox coupon page or something lol.. Chased it till around 1500 bucks, and gave up.. Got sold for 1885.. close lol

What the hell would the winner do with it anyway?

WTF is up with me I don't know.. been buying up domains like crazy.. Mostly 4 word domains .. slightly pronounceable as in with a vowel... Really don't understand this domain business.. coz I won similar sounding 4 char domains for 40 as well as 400 bucks.. Just don't understand what he heck.. But if someone tries to outbid me, It gets my goat... Oh fuckk..

But this is fucking crazy and damn addictive...

Any domain experts think 4 letter .coms are still valuable... ? (Lordb???)

I can always slap up a nice info site and flip for a couple Gs if they don't appreciate in value..

But I am also landgrabbing any 5-6 letter pronounceable domains ATM..the brandables

I just don't get these 4 letter domains... I just bid if they have a lot of action, and at least pronounceable somehow.

But won't pay more than 150 bucks now... Already paid 400+ each for 5 domains, and I am feeling a wee bit stupid... coz I won some for less than 100 and some less than 150.. Missed a few ones that got sold for less than 50 buck... Missed my radar.. And to me they all look the same value, in terms of pronounceability ??

I tend to invest in domains which are generic terms rather than brandables but they are more expensive.

The problem with brandables is that its a waiting game when it comes to buyers as there is no natural demand for them. That is why a lot of peeps who invest in these have thousands of them - need a lot of hooks in the water to catch the 'brand' fish.

Agree its addictive, spent way too much money on domains in my time.

I used to invest in more brandable names, but in recent years I started to lean more towards generic direct navigation names.

Generic typin domains never comes up on the public auctions and if they do the price is more than the same domain would sell with a google rank on flippa lol. Generics with like 10000 search would go for like a 100k

You would pay 1500 for redbox.net...to SGW and 301 to another site?? Maybe I'm missing something here, but that seems like a waste of about $1200

You do know that it has like a 3million+ search a month...
It is like a super trademarked domains.. as bad as it gets.... So even if I won it, I could only have done a 301 from an offshore registrar..

Yep, but why would you want it? The only benefits would be age and typeins, age is easy to find, surely it can't get that many typeins..

Consider yourself lucky, you would pretty much be paying $1,500 for a cease and desist letter from the real redbox. Hell that's probably why it hit the expired auctions in the first place.

Somewhat off topic, but I have like 50 domains and I want to sell a couple of them. I have a couple solid ones. Where would be the best place to sell them? GoDaddy auctions? They're registered on Namecheap and Moniker if that matters...

Domain prices are ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS right now... I get offers DAILY from all kinds of brokers because I own "similar domains" (which are actually better than what they're offering most of the time). 3 days ago this guy offers me a 3 worded dashed domains with 1,000 exact searches per month and he's asking for minimum $2,500 LOL! I can get similar domains at reg fee on GoDaddy any time. Who's paying these prices anyway?
