Oh noes...

Screen legend Leslie Nielsen passed away at a Ft. Lauderdale, Florida hospital on Sunday.

His nephew, Doug Nielsen, says that Leslie died of complications from pneumonia. "Today at 5:30 with his friends and his wife by his side, he just fell asleep and passed away," says his nephew.

The Canadian thespian was 84 years old.

Acting for over 50 years, he will forever be remembered (by us) for his loveably goofy roles in Airplane and The Naked Gun films.

My favorite quotes from Airplane:
"How soon can we land?"
"I can't tell..."
"You can tell me, I'm a doctor"

"Surely, you can't be serious"
"I am serious, and don't call me Shirley"

No fucking way. Was just thinking about him earlier when I had a Leslie Nielsen moment with my younger son:

"Daddy, I have an idea."

"What is it?"

"It's when you think of something fun."

RIP Leslie.

R.I.P. Leslie Nielson, you shaped my sense of humour.
Dr. Rumack: Can you fly this plane and land it?
Ted Striker: Surely you can't be serious.
Dr. Rumack: I am serious, and don't call me Shirley.
Dr. Rumack: Captain, how soon can you land?
Capt. Clarence Oveur: I can't tell.
Dr. Rumack: You can tell me, I'm a doctor.
Capt. Clarence Oveur: No, I mean, I'm just not sure.
Dr. Rumack: Well, can't you take a guess?
Capt. Clarence Oveur: Well, not for another two hours.
Dr. Rumack: You can't take a guess "for another two hours"?
Capt. Clarence Oveur: No, no, no, I mean we can't land for another two hours.
