Quick Adsense/PPC TOS Related Question

Hey everyone, I am unclear on the rules regarding having more than 1 PPC advertiser placed on a page.

For example, I currently have a website that uses Adsense and I just recently added AdBrite to the site.

Is this a violation of Google or AdBrite TOS?

I do understand that Adsense & YPN is a violation, but am still unclear about Adsense & Adbrite.

Please get back to me on this.

Not to be rude, but if you e-mail Google they will will give you a clear answer to any of your TOS questions. A lot of forum answers turn into speculation, even if it is a clear yes/no.

If your running adsense on a page that displays any other contextual advertising your going to run into problems. Which is why I believe Chiktika, has an option in their ad set up to disable contextual ads.....

Just got a reply back from the Google Adsense Team. Here is the official reply...

Thanks for your email. I understand you'd like some clarification on our
recently updated competing ads policy.

AdSense publishers may display third party advertisements, including
AdBrite ads, on sites and pages showing Google ads as long as the
formatting or color scheme of these ads is sufficiently different from the
layout of the Google ads. In other words, if you choose to place any
non-Google ads on the same site or page as Google ads, it should always be
clear to the user that the ads are served by different advertising
networks and that the non-Google ads have no association with Google. If
the formats are naturally similar, we'd ask that you use different color
schemes for the competing ads.

hmmm,

Im not to familiar with Adbrite, what kinds of ads are they serving? Im under the assumption that they are in fact contextual.

Ive heard of people loosing accounts running third party contextual ads along side adsense.....

I guess I was way off on this one, if they gave you the ok go with it.

Its very common that one person being wrong or misguided about something can spread and in effect become the "common answer".

When in fact, just asking the source turned out to be the answer I needed. They responded within 12 hours, so I was quite happy.

Now I wonder if this applies or carries over to YPN as well. Or maybe this was specific to AdBrite? That will be my next question for them.
