questions regarding facebook ads...

ok now about facebook,
first of all I understand that facebook doesn't really like fling landing pages
(here is my first question, what dafak are fling landing pages?)
so to avoid facebook's irascibility towards me I supposed to use facebook cloaking script
(an example: Facebook Cloaking Script with Daily Updated IP Database | Affiliate Marketing Blog)
ok now about this script, when do I use it? and why ?
can u give me the analogy of this script with its use on adwords for example ?

oh and one more last stupid question regarding facebook solely ,
I think that I'm right, but just to verify it,
You can't link an ad directly to the merchant's page just like in adwords,
there supposed to be an LP or other page which links to the merchants page? right?
if you'd be neglecting this question I'd assume that it's really stupid and obvious.

oh just an incentive :

I was gonna ask this same question.

this is not worth it, facebook bans you for life when they find it, and they're compliance team will find it.

the cloaking script is used to send facebook 'interns' (the ones that manually review your ad) to a "legit" page, while sending any other visitors (i.e., facebook clickers) to your offer.

the script you've linked to uses a database of fb interns IPs, which looks pretty interesting - if it would be accurate...much better than checking only for devXYZ.facebook.com referrer.

And what things should "legit" page avoid? or include? by facebook's interns.

i used legit between inverted commas because it's quite a vague term as per fb's guidelines, indeed

you could try to create a page on facebook related to your ad and send them to that - just one thought :-)

I think that's a bad idea, this can lower the CTR to the LP by like 20%.

what I was trying to say - and you would have realized that, if only you would have carefully read what I said - is that you should send the fb interns, who review your ads, to that legit, fb page, so that they approve your ad, and the ad clickers to the landing page (when the page is not likely to pass their review).

how would such a thing reduce your ctr?

oh sorry, I was really tired, misunderstood you,
and how occasionally should I update this interns IP list?

4. Daily update IP text file fbcloaking.txt from here.

it seems they update their database daily..you could setup a php script to get the content of that file (it's a txt file, so no problem accessing it remotely) and update your file (or rewrite altogether, whatever)

also, for even more automation, you could setup a cron job (if your server supports it) to run this php script once per day...this way, your ip database is updated daily with no effort on your side :)

Regarding your other question, its no problem at all to link directly to merchant's landing page if the offer allow it.

And ffs. They are not 'interns'. The intern subdomain is just short for internal.

If you need to ask - it's probably not worth it until you gain a little more knowledge on FB..

=]]

tru dat..

however, by the same logic, 'interns' is the short for internals ...

the resemblance to the original word is purely coincidental :D
