Puremedspa.com
Name: Pure Med Spa
Location: 840 N Michigan Ave & 3037 N Clark St
Established: info unavailable but website claims “over 10 years of experience”
Establishment: Clinic
Free Consultation: Yes
Pure Med Spa describes itself as an “international Provider” of solutions to a variety of issues related to aesthetics, anti-aging, skin rejuvenation and hair removal through laser treatment. It has a good number of locations all over the US and Canada where the same treatments are offered. This review, however, is limited to the two outlets of this brand name located in Chicago, IL and their handling of the laser hair removal process.
Pure Med Spa manages to lure a number of customers at both outlets though the one on Michigan Ave in Downtown Chicago sees a relatively larger number of customers. Laser treatments are often sold to these customers as part of promotional events. Many customers purchase these promotional coupons as they are far more affordable than the regular price which costs anywhere between $200 - $500 per session.
The majority of the customers that have reviewed the facilities at both Michigan Ave and Lincoln Park state emphatically that this enterprise is only out to get its money. Customers talk of experiences wherein they received no explanation of the procedure involved often finding themselves rushed when they dared to ask questions.
Prices for the laser hair removal treatment aren’t listed in a catalogue as according to the staff, they keep fluctuating based on the promotional events they launch. ‘Professional experts’ have known to have burned patients while executing the treatment and have offered neither an apology nor any compensation.
Service provided by almost all of the staff is described as indifferent and apathetic to say the least. The impression I got was that the both outlets of Pure Med Spa only pay attention until they receive the payment and thereafter rapidly lose interest, often failing to answer basic questions even when asked repeatedly.
Customers also point out that the staff including the manager change every so often making it difficult to follow up existing problems related to rescheduled appointments or coupon conditions that haven’t been met. Rage is a general emotion expressed by customers who vow not to go back. The ambience and the locations are often the only positive points that come to mind about these Chicago facilities.
There are of course some customers that are happy with their laser hair removal treatments but there again, credit for that seems to go to the specific nurses that administered it to them. The management and the front office staff are often reported to be clueless and poor at resolving issues, apologizing for mistakes, answering pertinent questions and refunding customers their money.
