Anyone ever got any campaigns to convert on here? (popads mainly, haven't tried popcash yet). They have a lot of traffic, but nothing ever seems to convert. I'm sure 90% of the sites on their network are trash, but they don't even list them and from what I can tell you can only bid on categories unless im missing something.

Yes I used them a few times, they have traffic but most of them is very crap, so I hope you are tracking everything(category, site id etc).

I found "site id" to be very useful, as some sites on there have large traffic but doesn't convert shit, but some small sites gives pretty sweet conversions with low traffic.

Mobile, dating, SOI games worked for me on popads.

Popcash have little good quality traffic as compared to popads but little less volume.

btw I would suggest you go for mobile campaigns first instead of desktop, as desktop traffic seemed to be less converting(at least for me).

No doubt that is required to operate a website operating costs.
Website owners put an ads on his website in my opinion reasonable. But still don't forget about the comfort of visitors.

Best regards.

I have to agree with the other guy. Mobile works well on popads, but you have to track site id, and categories.

The key to any traffic source (that isnt a blind traffic source) is tracking the individual traffic sources on the network, and eliminating the stuff that doesnt convert.

For example:

Alot of folks I know who have failed on popads and other similar ppv sources follow this pattern:

1. Launch a campaign (with or without tracking site ids, and category ids, most dont track them)

2. Look at their stats in a couple hrs, and see 30,000 impressions, $80 spent, and no conversions and go WTF!!!! This traffic source is crappp...

Unfortunately their wrong, which is why the guys doing it right, make really good money.

What you should do is as follows:

1. Setup your campaign, make sure you track everything you can, i.e. every token they allow you to pass, make sure you collect it. And in your tracking system make sure your collecting every possible data point, i.e. device, OS, geos, ips, etc.

2. When you look at your stats, analyze every data point. Even if you dont understand what certain data points mean, still take the time to go through each report.

Most of the time (specifically in this case with popads) you'll find that the same site ids, are eating up most of your budget, for example: I had test where I got a little over 11,000 impressions, and more then half of those came from 1 source which didnt generate any conversions. Once I turned that source off, the campaign was breaking even. and a little more optimization got it profitable.

So the trick with popads, or any source is using the data to find the right combination of targeting so you only get the best quality traffic from the network.

Heres a list of targets to exclude I got from another affiliate, whenever I start a popads campaign I use the list.

P.S. I dont know if I like the guy who gave me this list yet, but its solid. I still do my own testing, on site ids, but if you dont have the stomach to do that, this list eliminates alot of the bad traffic sources in the popads network.

I've had a few profitable camps on popads.

1. eliminate shitty site ids
2. Track OS/etc like that
3. splittest creatives/angles

bla bla bla. main thing to focus on in the site ids tho

yeah, in the big geos there's a ton of bot clicks for desktop. just check the ISPs they send you.. all colocation vpn traffic. (arb trash).. you need a decent budget to weed out the site ids that send that shit before you get a good traffic flow.
