Pipe - a host it yourself IFTTT

I just noticed an announcement from HN about pipe, which looks like it is gearing up to be a clone of IFTTT to host your own stuff yourself.

Like I said the project is really really young, think along the lines of proof of concept stage. Here is the HN discussion on the announcement

This would work well with something like IronWorker (or I really like picloud for python), run it on a cron, it'll run forever, no need to maintain / remember that a server exists.

Looks great.

My problem with IfTTT is lack of privacy... If I thought up a great money-making "recipe" then they'd proudly display that recipe on their front page for everyone else to use too... Defeating the point in using it.

Hosting it myself is the bomb. I'm going for it as soon as I can steal a few minutes to install it.

@CCarter: This is just what you need for the dashboard to expand its' functionality even further... All you'd need to do really is make it so the installation of pipe is done at the same time/in the same process as the installation of your dashboard, so the enduser doesn't have to think about installing something else... Et voila: A widget in the dashboard that automates whatever they want to do on the web is built in from the start. Perfection.
