Pinging Question

I know a lot of people here frown upon Wordpress, but since I'm already on there for a year and getting decent traffic with now 5-10 sign-ups a day ...

... a question:

I found a dude who talked about deleting the default update service in Wordpress and replacing it with the list below.

For those of you in the know, is doing this going to help or hurt me in the long run?

If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

Google indexes new posts on my Wordpress sites in literal minutes, due to the default pinging list. Having extra isn't going to help or get them to index in 30 seconds.
