Earlier this week, we started a slow rollout of an improved Panda algorithm, and we expect to have everything done sometime next week.

Based on user (and webmaster!) feedback, we’ve been able to discover a few more signals to help Panda identify low-quality content more precisely. This results in a greater diversity of high-quality small- and medium-sized sites ranking higher, which is nice.

Depending on the locale, around 3-5% of queries are affected.

One very profitable UK site of mine appears to have been hit although it could bounce back, too soon to say. Any UK guys see big changes?

I'm new to sepwoo, I see an average of around 10% over the past week for UK and a global score of 7%. Am I reading this correctly? This doesnt look much

Might not look like much now, but the key points in the update are that its a slow rollout.

UK might not have been hit or rolled out yet, maybe they started in Mexico, etc...

Also, some updates might start this week, but might not be felt/seen for weeks later.

In both Canada and the USA I see the biggest movement last weekend, around 20-21st with the many sites we own/watch. They call this a content update but to me it appears they lie. All our sites moved up or stayed the same, the biggest winners have spun crap content with new links. Sites without much for fresh links appear to be flat even though the content is not great. It appears it is still all about the links no matter what animal they throw at us.

Google is at it again. The best slight of hand Magician! Google wants webmaster to get links naturally, but then again it might be against our guidelines if you get them too fast or too many.

Yes I saw the Panda yesterday, and I chased the bastard with a shotgun.

Any of you notice a drop in category page rankings or pages that mimic them?

Just a theory based on very limited data. The Google dude wrote that this update tried to make it easier for smaller and mid sized sites vs big sites.

I am thinking they might have tried to limit how easily big trusted sites rank category and tag pages, which have taken up a lot of space the last year.

its just not the same without matt cutts :(

now who's gonna tell us we need to have COMPELLING CONTENT to get out of a slap?
