What are your experiences with outsourcing?

I don't really like the idea because you never know who you're dealing with. Though I've been fortunate enough to find a really good coder who lives in my country (small country) so that's at least better then some guy from the other end of the world, like China or India.

I would consider outsourcing the things I dont like, or things I dont have time for. I doubt Ill ever outsource coding and development, because that is my favorite part of the whole process (software engineer by trade).

Eventually Ill start outsourcing link development, some content, and things of that nature.

I've outsourced to some Canadians before but that's about it. Anything that get me the same (or better) quality product for less money is a good deal.

lol is canadian a cheap labor country? Whats the benefint of outsourcing there I don't think they're poor

I'f i outsource it'll mainly be to friends or people i personally know in the biz. Because I think it wont save me any time to let some indian do it, and i have to let him re do it 4 times untill i'm satisfied, doing it myself will save me time and money

To expand on what I said above, I agree about outsourcing carefully. If you outsource things for ultra cheap, you will get what you pay for. I doubt Id consider outsourcing anything unless I either personally knew the person or they came with significant positive recommendations.

They are actually for example indian people that would perfectly code a site for like a bowl of rice. But that's kind ofunethical to exploit and not very reliable.
I don't think it's unethical, it's just that what we regard as very little money is regarded as way more over there.

I have 4 guys I deal with on a regular basis and outsource most my work to them. Took a while to find reliable guys though

I find it morally ambiguous, and financially unprudent. Cheap? Yes. A good deal? Rarely.

i've thought about outsourcin, but if i ever wanted a programmin job done i'd want to be able to go to their office to check on the progress or watever. but i do most things myself :)

I have outsourced almost everything i have done so far...It is a crap shoot really, because they are nice at first, then slack off..just take control and filter them

why do that if you can pay someone like $2 to do it for you :D then you can watch tv or something more productive

So, my fellow teenage programmer, how much do you make? You think you'll be able to pay for college easily? That's my ultimate goal.

I'm trying to outsouce more and more work... doing all the work yourself while it may be cheaper, just simply takes too long. And the fact of the matter is that there are people who are really good, and don't charge all that much

I'm only outsourcing some content writing for now, but could actually use outside labour for everything. Except creating ideas. I like creating ideas :)

I sometimes outsource design work and now have a reliable person to outsource to so I don't have all those problems involved in outsourcing. I have also outsources content writing in the past which I found to be very successful.
