I just installed OpenX on one of my websites and I see that it has a section for "websites". Because of this, I'm wondering if I'm suppose to install this on each website I want to rotate ads on or do I put it on 1 website and add my other websites to the 1 install of OpenX? And would it be better to install OpenX to it's own database or does it not matter since it has a prefix for the tables?

give it its own database. earlier versions of openads used "zones" so you create zones that you then copy the code and put it on your websites. you can decide to have one default zone or you can make specific zones for each site, even site section. Then you create advertisers and campaigns and target them to the different zones. i did a quick install of openx and it appeared to be the same.

You can use one install for many sites or give each site it's own install of openx. Whatever works better for you.

It's own database would be better. For ease of use I'd suggest having just one install for all your sites. There's loads of info on their site that explains how to set it up better than I can... maybe start here.

Just noticed they now offer a hosted version, which might be a better option - save the hassle of upgrading etc.

Thx! I didn't see the hosted option and that seems like the best setup

I got accepted into the hosting service and I set up the website/zones/ and uploaded the image for the ad.. where do I get the code that I paste into my html from?
