This is 100% BS. I used to do this back in the totse days and let me tell you this doesn't add up...
Pedos don't expect 8 year olds to have paypal accounts and would be suspicious immediately.
If anyone is interested in actually doing this scam I would recommend telling them that you don't have a webcam and then giving them an anonymous PO box. They send you a webcam, you block them and you sell the webcam.

Years ago I had some fun pretending I'm a very young boy or girl on sex chats. The response from community was always massive and I was getting 6-8 people per night giving me their emails and some details in trust in order to send them my nude photos. But my reply was always something like 'My name is Mike Bitchlowsky (any name here) and for a previous 3 years I help police to truck down pedophile crime in Internet. Please be aware that the photos you asking people below the age of 16 for nude or pornographic is a crime in our country (and here was the number of law act citation)... bla bla bla bla'. (it was in one of Eastern European countries). My email created for this purpose was like one-pedo-less@gmail.com or something like that. All the guys who get these emails were begging to not break their 'family lifes' etc. I never reported these things to Police, I should in my opinion. I know there are the people who do treat this as a 'hobby' and they really help Police to catch those perverts. Surely monetizing this or similar activities might pay well for someone with different mentality.
 
They called out his bluff further down the reddit page and found out OP is a fraud... Someone may be doing this shit (reminds me of the large community of 419 baiters/eaters) but not that dude.
