big kudos to Eko (that's his name). even tho he's blind, he's able to build a blog and become a contributor in my country's leading IT news portal.

here's the address of his blog : http://www.ramaditya.com/

the point is, accessibility is something we need to consider more seriously nowadays. with the current technology, user with disabilities can easily have access to information on the internet.

are we going to ignore the facts that's as obvious as this one? i hope not.

from a business p.o.v, it means our sites will be able to cater a wider range of visitors. and by posting this story here, it's quite obvious that accessibility also has a strong relation with SEO.

so, do you have any thoughts on this?

I have long thought that voice recognition software integrated with a blogging platform would be very cool. Unfortunately I have no idea how that could be done server-side, but I suppose it wouldn't be too difficult on a local machine.

Well, voice recognition's always done locally anyways :S

But as for making your site more accessible, you can do things like allowing users to skip to your content/navigation with a link at the very top and 'back to top' links, etc. And make sure it complies with http://www.contentquality.com/fulloptions.asp

edit - here's another person who, while they may be able to see, has other difficulties, and yet manages to do pretty well for himself
