im havin some issues with my new mac on snow leopard and even google doesnt help me. maybe u guys had this problems.

using standart mail client - the pictures i add to mail are gettign pasted, not attached as files. shortly - if i mail it to my outlook/thunderbird the mails have no attachment but have the pictures pasted.

is there any walk over that or other client without issues?
i do paperclip + attach + tick 'send windows friendly'.

i found this: Mac to PC email attachments appearing as embedded on a PC. but really theres no built-in solution?!

also does anybody have 'test version' of this solution, im not eager to buy and see it doesnt work ;)

Never used the client that comes with osx, but I use Post Box and it works fine.

Not sure why you would have to encode the image for Windows.

I have had that problem in the past. My solution is a bit of a hassle, but it works - I put the image/images in a zip file and then send.

Go to Terminal and paste:
Code:
defaults write com.apple.mail DisableInlineAttachmentViewing -bool yes
To return to normal paste:
Code:
defaults write com.apple.mail DisableInlineAttachmentViewing -bool false
Restart mail.

This works. It's what I've done! :)

You just have to go to Format > Make plain text

Works but obviously fucks yer html email up :(

Don't forget of course, that most clients embed by default anyway, so it makes little difference.

My Mac sends as attachments, but people still receive as embedded because the online services and Thunderbird all embed by default.

And before everyone goes full retard about it being a Macfag® thing, send some emails between Thunderbird and Gmail/Hotmail, and vice versa, and see for yourself.
