Just curious, but can I slap adsense and a few affiliate links onto a free blog or a free host and just watch it grow with zero startup costs instead of say...15 or 16 bucks? Anyone done this? Will the difference in viewable professionalism create a significant difference in profits?

Just Curious I own 15 sites and pay for a dedicated hosting plan and still want to save $15 a year... Thanks mom

Yes. It is even popular among the top blackhat webmasters to use free Blogger blogs to rank for high competition keywords like viagra and cialis (it works best in MSN).

You can still rank well with blogger blogs for very low competition keywords in google.

I'm not sure if you can make bank on it, but for free...why not try it out. My concern would be if it is just a waste of time relative to ROI.
 
It can be done, but it all depends on how you're planning to do it.

Some people, for example, have had their completely legit and good quality sites deleted by Blogger and that was definitely a bigger loss than $15.
