NFL Draft

All the pundits were ragging on Seattle's pick, Bruce Irvin, saying we took him too high (even though 9 other teams had him ranked as a top #15 player).

This comes as no surprise to me though. All those guys hate the West Coast teams. They have more respect for the Niners and Raiders and all those other teams who have won Super Bowls in the past but they shit on the Seahawks every chance they get.

At any rate, the more I read about Irvin and his 4.43 speed as a DE (a DE!) and his awesome combine numbers, and the fact that he never even played high school football and still managed to dominate at his level, makes me excited about this pick. Plus, we stole him from the Niners who apparently flew him in and told him they were gonna take him at #30.

"2012 NFL Draft Individual Grades:

15. Bruce Irvin, DE/OLB, West Virginia: MATT MILLEN LSD-LACED KIELBASA ORGY WITH 200 USDA MEN
Wow!!! What the hell are the Seahawks doing? You pick one-trick ponies in the third or fourth round. And you pick one-trick ponies who get arrested for robbery and defacing public property in the sixth or seventh round. Did Seattle write the wrong name down on the card? If they did mean to pick him, did they even watch him on tape? He's an athlete playing football. This is one of the worst draft picks of all time."

Hopefully he can stay out of jail.

I thought Dallas, Pittsburgh, and Detroit made some good moves.

Yeah it was funny when Detroit came on the clock at #23 and Pittsburgh was at #24 and Reiff and DeCastro were still both available - they both shot their picks in quick as fuck. Couldn't believe those two fell that far. Obvious Lions fan here, but Pittsburgh is going to be so nasty with Pouncey and Decastro playing next to each other for the next 10-12 years. Good luck trying to stop the run.

A couple things about Bruce Irvin:

-the last time he was in trouble was 4+ years ago. The recent incident was just knocking a magnetic pizza delivery sign off the top of the car. Charges were dropped and apparently a bigger deal was made out of it than it actually was

7 other teams had him ranked in the top 15

I'm not sold on his pick but to act like it was the worst pick of all time that no one understands if off base

I'm pumped we got Richardson. Dude's a freak.

Not too sure about the Weeden pick though. If he wasn't 29 I'd like it a lot more.

I am excited for the Decastro pick. He was a huge pickup and should make an impact almost immediately. I hope this is what will allow the run game to get back to where it should be and then that should open up for Big Ben to make some throws and stay healthy.

I'm not crazy about you guys trading up to get Richardson. Who was going to trade up above them to get a RB, even one as good as him?

Weeden might've gone a little high too since he's got at most 7 or 8 years of football in him. But he does look like a good prospect so it might be worth that spot to take him.

Yeah, we can't really know for sure if Tampa was gonna trade up to 3 or not, but if they really wanted Richardson that bad it was worth a 4th, 5th, and 7th. We had 13 picks in this draft and I don't really want 13 rookies brought on the team.

Weeden has a good arm which is way better than McCoy's. I'm still up in the air about this pick. I do think he's a much better prospect than Tannehill.
