This is my first time back in about 4 years. I've had children and bought a house and things have changed drastically. I've come back to wickedfire because I want to start fresh. I remember my problem before when I was doing affiliate marketing was distraction. I'd get on one thing and see something else and get overwhelmed and quit. I had maybe 5 or 6 successful, profitable campaigns and probably overall made about $5000.

I've decided to take it slower this time around and try to focus on one thing at a time. I currently am attempting to build an amazon review page on wordpress. My question is this:

I've tried to take a methodical approach to this and am trying to learn but seem to be falling into the same distraction pit. Can you recommend a place here on wickedfire or not that can help me with this venture alone? Something that can help me build a decent review site for amazon products and help me market it successfully? I'm certainly not looking for handouts and I hope this doesn't come off as lazy. I am willing to do the work, I just want to make sure I'm starting in the right place and focusing my efforts on things that will help with this one specific venture. Thanks in advance.

Read everything by CCarter. Here's one of his posts to get you started:

Not to question your choice, but for the same amount of effort you're going to put into this, you could find a higher ticket product to promote that will bring in bigger bucks than you're likely to get affiliating for Amazon.

That said, I don't know exactly what your plan is or how profitable an Amazon review site can be.

But I do know that reading CCarter will be good for you.

Thank you for the response and I'll be for sure checking out that material. As for what you said regarding the amazon program, I'm not yet married to a definite project yet. I guess what I'm saying is if like to pick one project that I can focus on that would be long term. You mentioned bigger ticket items, please explain. Thank you in advance.

I'm in the exact same position as you man. Started IM few years ago, learned a lot of shit but didn't take enough action on what I had learned. Have to make it work this time. My new project is an Amazon review site too. What strategy are you using?

Mine is authority site comparing different products in my niche, drive traffic using PPC and some other free methods (don't have much cash) and also have a squeeze page on my site. Simple, but I believe it will work with the right tracking and testing etc.

I will probably make a thread on this once I've actually got a solid review site set up and I've tried (and most likely failed) at PPC lol.

Good luck bro

Every single SEO "guru" is pretty much pushing this strategy in one form or another:

Find a hot article in your niche, recreate it and make it 100x better, then get in touch with market makers/influencers in your niche to let them know about your new (great) piece of content. If you have a head on your shoulders, you can do this for any niche or business model - including review sites.

Of course, spam churn/burn sites are still completely relevant. They're just getting smacked faster and more often. I, personally, know that the big money spam niches are already dominated by people that have been doing this for years. If I was just starting out, I'd see a pretty big hill to climb. But, hey, do whatever feels right to you.
