Hi I bought a PR4 Link directory recently and well how did they do it?

The site is http://www.ukccis.org

The alexa is actually glitched if you search it at alexa it doesn't show.

The page rank 4 is ligament with just over 1,000 back links. The website is just over 10 years old.

Looking through the back links I can see they submitted it to blogs/forums the usual stuff.

What I am confused about is that the website seems to be active the last 3-4 months does that mean it was an expired high page rank domain and they just registered it?

Can you search expired domains by page rank?

I bought this link directory just because I see people selling links and I thought fuck that I can buy the damn site and than link to mine.

I bought this website for next to nothing and it has google adsense (that means its legit right)

It receives about 150 unique views a month, is this legit and will people buy links from it? Or am I missing the scam?

The domain is registered to a person in Bangkok, you are in Canada?
The domain expires next month?
Is the adsense yours?

I do not see a scam here, but also not really sure what you're going to do with it.
If you decide you don't want it, let me know, I might be able to develop it over time.

Thanks for answering Bompa. Yes, I am in Canada. The website is changing registrars right now (takes up to 7 days). I have all the passwords and the site is changing over to my hosting soon.

What I want to do with it if it is legit is simply sell 5-10 text link adds on the right side bar below the adsense (yes adsense is mine just changed it yesterday).

If it's legit is 10$ a month / 100$ a year for text adds on the right side bar something that would sell? It would be on the homepage and every other page as do follow.

I receive 50 link submissions a day, these I set to no follow unless they have reciprocal. Once I have finished manually approving the first 2,000 links I will set up the website to require reciprocal links.

Should I try selling regular and featured links? Will people buy them on a PR4 site? I am thinking 5$ for a featured link for one year up to 5 per category.

Any advice people can is great, my primary site the one I wanted to promote is already on the side bar and bumping it's PR so the rest is bonus :)

What I plan to do if this works out is buy larger link directories with higher PR 5->8 add a link to my primary site and sell links/text adds to slowly earn back the cost and to cover hosting.

I have no experience with link directories any advice on pricing or anything about them is appreciated.

Your website doesn't load right now for me, maybe you are currently transferring it.

I also suggest trying text-link-ads.com. (no affiliate link here or anything like that, just a happy customer of theirs). I have a PR2 website and they are paying me about $50/month for a total 4 text links on my homepage. With a PR4 website I imagine you could make more than $50, but I am not sure if they accept link directory websites.

Tried it, loading for me. It is possible it took a hit.

I have signed up to the TextLinkAds | The Leader in Text Link Search Engine Optimization we will see how it goes.

The fact that its a link directory should matter little what matters is out bound links from a page. Yes, the category links will count as links but they are internal and link back so not a deterrent.

Any other advice I have signed up to this site hopefully it goes well.

Cool, let me know how it goes for you. You have to be a little patient before you can make $50 + because they will slowly add links to your site. For me it took about 2 months to sell all 4 text links on my page.
